This October, we rolled up our sleeves and poured our hearts (and coffee) into raising funds for a cause that means a lot to us—and we are chuffed with the results! Thanks to an incredible outpouring of support, Voyager Coffee raised £1,700 for Project Waterfall, a charity dedicated to providing clean drinking water, sanitation, and education to coffee-growing communities in need.

This year, Project Waterfall is focusing on a transformative initiative in Rwanda’s Bugesera district. The project will bring clean water to more than 46,000 people across the villages of Mwogo and Juru, where farmers often trek hours each day to access the nearest lakes. With new water distribution networks planned, clean water will flow through reservoirs and pump stations right to the villages—impacting lives, health, and futures in profound ways.

UK Coffee Week: A Celebration of Coffee and Community

UK Coffee Week is a brilliant initiative that unites the coffee industry around a single goal: making a positive impact in coffee-growing regions worldwide. Each year, hundreds of coffee shops, restaurants, roasters, and retailers rally together, donating from every cup or bag of coffee sold, running events, and engaging customers in fun ways to support this meaningful cause.

At Voyager, we joined the action by holding an “Evening of Coffee, Chocolate, and Cocktails” hosted at the new Brew Hub in Buckfastleigh. It was an event for the books—guests savoured a coffee cupping experience with Gabe, our head roaster, dove into chocolate-making with Michael from Barbers Bean to Bar, and enjoyed a live Rumtini demo courtesy of Hattiers Rum. There was then a lively auction, with every penny going straight to Project Waterfall.

Every Bag and Every Sip Counts

Alongside the event, we donated 10% of all sales of our “shipped by sail” specialty coffee, Luz Helena, transported across the Atlantic by The Ide Min, a wind-powered cargo vessel supporting sustainable shipping. And as part of our commitment to Project Waterfall, we also donated 50p for every kilo of coffee sold throughout UK Coffee Week.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Community

We couldn’t have done it without the local businesses and wonderful customers who made this possible. Special thanks to Hattiers Rum for the unforgettable Rumtinis, Luscombe for the refreshing soft drinks, The French Cook for fantastic food, and Barbers Bean to Bar for the mouthwatering chocolate. We’re also grateful for the generous donations to our auction, see suppliers below for a list of outstanding local businesses

To everyone who joined us in celebrating, raising funds, and making a difference—thank you. You’ve helped us go beyond simply sharing great coffee; you’ve helped us extend real support to the people behind it. We couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished together.
