Fazenda Pantano can be found in the Cerrado Mineiro region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Known for its rolling hills and innovative farming practices, Cerrado is one of the country’s best coffee-producing areas. This naturally processed Yellow Catuaí coffee is grown by Wagner Ferrero, a third-generation coffee farmer with a deep passion for producing exceptional coffee.
Born in Altinópolis, São Paulo – a region celebrated for its coffee culture, Wagner grew up surrounded by the traditions of coffee farming. A legacy passed down from his Italian immigrant grandparents who arrived in Brazil in 1912 to work on coffee plantations. Today, Wagner is one of Brazil’s leading producers of high-quality coffee, cultivating over 550 hectares in the Cerrado Mineiro region.
His farm, Fazenda Pantano, is a testament to dedication and expertise. Wagner grows an impressive 148 coffee varieties, including Yellow Catuaí, Topázio, and exclusive cultivars such as UVA and Yellow Bourbon. Employing cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices, Wagner has earned national recognition for his innovative approach, recently winning a sustainability award in the perennial cultivars category.
This Yellow Catuaí lot was grown in a uniquely favourable area of the farm, where balanced sunlight enhances its quality year after year. After harvesting, the coffee underwent a light fermentation in a washing box for one day, followed by careful drying on raised beds over 20 days—a meticulous process that ensures exceptional flavour development. The result is a rich, full-bodied cup with notes of bourbon biscuit and a creamy mouthfeel. Smooth and chocolatey, it’s endlessly easy-drinking and works beautifully across all brewing methods, including espresso, with or without milk.
