This exceptional coffee has been produced by the Ventura family who have been growing coffee for over 120 years. This harvest is from one of their newest plots, Finca El Durazno, which was planted up in 2013.
The Ventura family have been farming coffee in the Jalapa region for over five generations, starting back in 1894 when their grandfather started growing coffee at a farm called Finca Rabanales. Over a hundred years later, the family purchased Finca El Durazno in 2012 and planted their first crop there in 2013. Although climate change is having an impact on their crops, they continue to grow their family business, producing high quality coffee.
We worked with Coffee Bird, a family-owned female lead importer that specialises in ethically sourced Guatemalan coffee. They are proudly transparent on their impact in the speciality coffee market, paying farmers 37% higher than the industry average in Guatemala.
